Little bit of a deck build for a Friday. Always a fun one working around the rain, but we managed to get through the entire stack of timber we had on site only to be short a few sticks. Good enough reason for an early knock.

Currently working on a few repair jobs before the client gets the new roofing laid. Removed the original cedar weatherboards and replaced the fascia with new timber. The next step is to replace the damaged purlins so the roofers can crack on then

Man was this a scary moment when I pulled this fascia off and was greeted with an absolute nightmare. Bora had completely destroyed the backing timber for the fascia. Did a complete removal of the damaged timber, luckily the bora didn’t make it to the sprockets so I was able to treat the timber with frame saver to prevent further damage and rot from occurring. It was then a simple matter of setting in brand new H3.1 treated timber and fascia.

Getting ready for a small Reno on a one bedroom unit. There’s a bit of demo involved to open up the kitchen. Going to be removing the old Lino for tiles and replacing the old bench tops and sink. The carpets all getting biffed which reveals a beautiful Matai floor that I’m going to fill, sand and seal. Minor alterations to the bathroom include adding in tiles to the floor and shower backsplash, as well as moving the vanity to allow space for a washing machine.
A little bit of a door repair. I Had to remove the rotten timber from the bottom of the doorway, after sealing and manufacturing a new piece to slip in I then worked on replacing the rotted out bottom of edge of the door.

The man cave upgrade is complete. The back panels are made of ply with a black bean stain. I added a few pieces of trim around the edges to hide any gaps. I was able to stretch the budget enough to add in kwila panels to line the window and create a shelf above the old concrete blocks. Just adding in those extra little details makes a world of difference.
The client requested a custom desk to fit the room, since the budget was tight I had to make do with framing timber and spice it up a little with some black paint and a charcoal stain.
